Stillness: Study 23

I wake with positive thoughts. I cultivate this positivity through breath and mindfulness. I also like to move my body and clear my mind through writing, art, gardening, exercise, and meditation. I have no time for fear - if I notice thoughts of doubt, worry, anxiety arise - I realize they are all illusions of a fearful mind. I acknowledge the fear and know it to be different than danger. I realize -in actuality, I am safe and secure, and I give thanks - In this process - fear dissolves and courage expands.

In stillness, fear diffuses and courage expands.

I exhale all doubt, worry, anxiety, anger —-fear. I inhale and welcome courage.

Making a Connection Through Art Journaling

I am posting this short video showing you how I cultivate stillness through art and nature. Enjoy!

There is a quiet courage that comes from an inward spring of confidence in the meaning and significance of life. Such courage is an underground river, flowing far beneath the shifting events of one’s experience, keeping alive a thousand little springs of action.
— Howard Thurman
