Stillness: Study 24

Christmas Eve, one of the longest nights of the year. In the long darkness - we might wonder - will there ever be light? In the Judeo-Christian tradition - Jews were waiting for light - prophecies of a coming Messiah, who would be the light of the world, fueled the hearts of many a soul. To welcome this One, candles were lit—lights flickering through window panes out into the darkness of displacement and oppression—- signifying hope.

In stillness, despair gives way to hope.

I breathe in, and I welcome hope. I breathe out and smile, my light within is flickering through the long night.

Making a Connection Through Art Journaling

I am posting this short video showing you how I cultivate stillness through art and nature. Enjoy!

In the stillness of the quiet, if we listen, we can hear the whisper of the heart giving strength to weakness, courage to fear, hope to despair.
— Howard Thurman.
